Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account?
No. You type a nickname when you make or join a room, and that is all. Nothing is remembered between games except the nickname on your own device.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. ReDub is designed for phones first. Every screen works with one hand, and recording uses the phone’s own microphone. Desktop browsers work too; Safari, Chrome, Firefox and Edge are all fine.
Why does it ask for my microphone?
You record your own voice over the scene, so the browser asks for the microphone when it is time to record, and not before. Your takes are uploaded to the room so the other players can hear them, and deleted when the room closes.
Can I play alone?
Yes. The homepage has a solo lane: a room with just you, one scene, and the save button at the end. It is the quickest way to try a scene or make a video.
How many players can join?
Two to twelve in a room. A vote in Classic mode needs three or more players, Chain needs three, and Cast needs two.
Where do the clips come from, and can I use my own?
The community shelf holds dub packs made for The Choicer Voicer and published on GameBanana. You can also upload your own MP4 or WebM, up to 50MB, and mark the lines yourself.
Are my recordings kept?
No. Takes are stored only while your room is open, replaced each round, and deleted when the room closes. There is no archive and no feed.
Can I save the video?
Yes. From the results screen, save your dub as an MP4, in the clip’s own frame or vertical for TikTok and Shorts. On a phone the share sheet hands it to other apps.
Why is there a watermark?
Saved videos carry a small ReDub mark in the corner so that people who see one shared can find the game. It is the only way the game spreads.
Is Arabic supported?
Fully. Every screen is in English and Arabic, the layout mirrors for Arabic, and Arabic captions are burned into saved videos.
Something is broken. Where do I write?
The contact page has the address and what to include.
