No accounts. ReDub itself sets no trackers and no cookies, and nothing about you is sold or shared.

Your voice goes to the players in your room, a few anonymous numbers go into a counter, and ads — when they run — come from Google under its own policy, covered below. The rest of this page is that story with details.

ReDub keeps a few small settings in your browser’s local storage, on your device, readable and deletable by you at any time:

• Your nickname, language, and theme.
• A room token, so a refresh can put you back into your game.
• Export preferences, and a marker that this browser has visited before.
• Scenes your device converted, cached so the same scene never converts twice.

Clearing the site’s data in your browser removes all of it.

When you record a take, it uploads to the ReDub server so the other players in your room can hear it and the room’s dub video can be built.

The same goes for anything you choose to upload from your device, like a clip of your own to dub: it is stored with your room so the room can play it.

All of it is temporary. Recordings are deleted when your room closes, replaced when a new round starts, and wiped when the server restarts; uploads and any video you saved are kept with the room’s media and deleted with the room. There is no archive of past games.

After you save a dub, the results screen offers one switch: “Let ReDub repost this?”. It is off unless you turn it on.

If you turn it on, that one video file and your room’s four letter code are sent to a private inbox that only the site’s owner can open, so the dub can be posted on ReDub’s own social accounts. Nothing in the inbox identifies you: no nickname, no id, nothing about your device. The video carries only what you saw in it, and its ReDub mark.

You can turn the switch off again on the same screen and the file is removed from the inbox. Otherwise it stays there until it has been posted or is deleted. It is never shown anywhere on redub.tv itself; there is no public feed.

The server keeps daily totals: how many visits, how many of those were first visits, which site sent them (only the site’s name, never the full link), a campaign tag when a link carries one, and how many rooms, games, dubs, and saves happened that day.

No IP addresses, no cookies, no device fingerprints, and no per person records go into these counters. Totals older than 120 days are deleted.

After a game you can answer whether the scene was fun to dub. That answer bumps one number for that scene, up or down. Nothing connects it to you, your room, or your recordings.

Like nearly every website, the web server keeps standard access logs (the visiting address and the page it asked for) for security and abuse protection. They are kept briefly and rotated automatically.

Rate limits count requests per address in memory for about a minute, then forget them.

ReDub loads no analytics and no fonts from other companies. Beyond the two cases below, the site is self contained.

Advertising: ReDub uses Google AdSense to show ads on a few waiting screens, which loads a script from Google on the site’s pages. When ads serve, third party vendors, including Google, use cookies or similar identifiers to serve and measure them, and ads may be personalized or non personalized depending on your region and your Google settings. You can turn off personalized advertising at Google’s Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com). Ad requests are governed by Google’s privacy policy, not ours, and never include your nickname, your recordings, or anything from your game.

Scene packs: community made scene packs are hosted by GameBanana. When you browse them, your browser fetches the preview images from GameBanana’s servers directly, and when a pack is prepared on your device instead of on ReDub’s server, your browser downloads the pack file itself from there too. GameBanana’s privacy policy applies to those requests.

ReDub is not directed at children under 13, and the terms require players to be at least 13. There are no accounts or profiles: a nickname and the recordings or clips a player chooses to make are all they ever provide, and those are deleted with the room.

Questions, or anything you want checked or deleted:
